Thursdays–Mondays The Florida DEP's Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park will host an ongoing wood carving workshop on Thursdays through Mondays, from noon until 4 p.m. Participants can create figure carvings, wood spirits, spoons, bowls, relief carvings and more during this four-hour class. First Saturday of Each Month Everyone is invited to gospel (open mic) sings at Lee Worship Center the first Saturday night of each month, beginning at 7 p.m. The church is located at 397 Magnolia Dr. in Lee. Food will not be given out and the first and third Mondays of each month from 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m. to those who have signed up and qualified in accordance with USDA guidelines. March 6 A Woman's Pregnancy Center invites the public to help promote life on March 6 during the 15th Annual Walk for Life. The event will be held at the Madison Courthouse and will help raise funds to support young women facing decisions surrounding pregnancy. Registration is at 8:30 a.m. The walk begins at 9 a.m.

March 10 The March meeting of the 55 Plus Club is a very important one because of the upcoming U.S. Census being taken across the country. Pat Lightcap will be the speaker explaining the importance of the Census and how it will be done. He will be able to answer any question the we might have. Everyone over 55 years of age living in Madison County is invited to this meeting, so come for information that you need and be sure that you and your family are counted. 55 Plus Club meets Wednesday March 10 at the United Methodist Cooperative Community Center located at the corner of Highway 145 and Dill Street. The Luncheon served at Noon is free and there are no other fees of any kind. Reservations are not necessary. The purpose of 55 Plus Club is to meet for Christian fellowship over lunch with programs of particular interest to seniors. All faiths are welcome. The host will be Hanson United Methodist Church. March 13 Gospel Sing at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Opry Hall, Saturday, March 13 at 7:00 PM featuring the Social Security Boys from North Carolina. These are three energetic seniors who were boran and raised on eastern North Carolina farms. They have been singing together since 2005 and combined, they have over 140 years of singing experience.
