A driver and the passenger of a 2000 Ford Ranger received injuries after the driver lost control on SE River Road on Wednesday, Feb. 4 at 12:10 p.m. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Rene Lopez Gonzalez, 47, of Live Oak was traveling north on SE River Road when his 2000 Ford Ranger began to rotate counterclockwise. Gonzalez overcorrected causing the vehicle to rotate clockwise and travel off the roadway to the east. The vehicle then began to rotate counterclockwise in the east shoulder of SE River Road. The front passenger side collided with a standing tree on the east shoulder. The vehicle then rotated counter clockwise approximately 90 degrees coming to a final rest facing westerly in the east shoulder of SE River Road. Gonzalez received minor injuries and the passenger, Rafeal Gonzalez Martinez, 64, of Live Oak, received critical injuries and was transported to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.
