Like many aspects of life in 2020, adjustments and changes have had to be made to things that may have been taken for granted in previous years. This year's Homecoming parade on Friday, Oct. 2, was a prime example. Instead of a procession of floats, bands and pretty girls riding in cars down Base Street, Madison County High School (MCHS) opted for a procession of pretty girls riding in cars around the track at Boot Hill Stadium. Although it wasn't quite the same as the traditional Homecoming Coronation ceremony or parade, it was well received by the students and very well organized by the faculty and staff at MCHS.
As in the past, different organizations selected representatives for their groups. The Homecoming Court was also selected by the student body and presented during the parade. The Homecoming Queen was crowned during a special ceremony held at halftime of the football game on Friday, Oct. 2.
