Over the weekend of Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 11 and 12, three members of the Aucilla Christian Academy (ACA) golf team participated in the Panhandle Cup Golf Tournament at the Bay Point Golf Club, in Panama City, Fl.. Megan Schofill, Tima Finlayson and Ryan Jackson represented ACA on the East Team during the event. Other schools making up the East Team included Franklin County High School, Maclay School, Chiles High School, Lincoln High School, Leon High School and schools from Panama City, Fl. With the help of the ACA golfers, the East Team won the event for the first time in nearly a decade.
The Panhandle Cup is a match play event where 12 of the best high school golfers from the eastern Florida Panhandle compete against 12 of the western Florida Panhandle’s best high school players. Each team is made up of four girls and eight boys, East vs. West, in a Ryder/Solheim Cup format. This annual event showcases the best high school golfers in the Florida Panhandle.
Schofill won two matches during the event. Jackson won one match and halved another during the weekend.
