Alan P. Spurlock, age 75, died on Friday, June 24, at Madison County Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 29 at 11 a.m. at Beggs Funeral Home, in Madison. Burial will be held on Saturday, July 2 at 11 a.m. at Sylvan-Abbey Funeral Home Chapel at Sylvan-Abbey Cemetery in Clearwater, Fl. Visitation was held on Tuesday, June 28 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Beggs Funeral Home, in Madison.
Spurlock was born and raised in St. Albans, West Virginia. He moved to Madison in 2000 from Clearwater, where he lived since 1971.
He was a former member of the Lions Club. He was Head Plant Operator for the Pinellas County School System and worked in maintenance at Valdosta State University. He was a very good mechanic and good with machines. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Madison, where he was a Deacon.
He is survived by his wife, Gail Spurlock; one daughter, Teresa Gail Smith (Robert) of Dunedin, Fl.; and one brother, Ross L. Spurlock of St. Albans, West Virginia.
He was predeceased by a son, Timothy Alan Spurlock.
