On Wednesday, July 27, various members and leaders of the Madison community gathered in the Madison County Courthouse vestibule to celebrate the 10 years of dedicated service and the overdue and well-deserved retirement of County Coordinator Allen Cherry.
The courthouse was bursting with members of the community, which included county leaders, business owners, county personnel, family members and friends. A table filled with various appetizers, finger foods and cheese and fruit platters was placed in the vestibule and conversation filled the large room.
Even District 3's State Senator, Bill Montford stopped by to wish Cherry well in his upcoming retirement.
Friday, July 29 officially marked the end of Cherry's role as county coordinator and Cherry claims that his plans for retirement are to include traveling with his wife, Linda; their first destination is to be Yellowstone National Park.
