Alvin Lee Neloms, 71, of Madison, Fla. was the son of Arthur McDaniel and Lena Mae Neloms Denmark. Answering the Master's call, he departed this earthly life on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2020. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021, at Shiloh M.B. Church, 356 MLK, Jr. Ave., in Madison. Viewing and visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., on Friday, Jan. 1, 2021 at Tillman of Madison, ~A Hall-Moore Provider~, located at 379 W. Base St., in Madison. A burial with full Military Honors will be held at 12 p.m., on Monday, Jan. 4, 2021, in Tallahassee National Cemetery, 5015 Apalachee Parkway, Tallahassee.
Alvin attended the public school system of Madison County and was a proud 1967 Madison County Training School "Tiger" graduate. During the Vietnam War Era, he enlisted in the U.S. Army on Sept. 29, 1969 and actively served until he was honorably discharged with the rank of SP-4 at Ft. Lewis, Washington on May 16, 1976.
Following his military experience, Alvin returned to civilian life in Madison and gained employment at Cantey Chevrolet Dealership. After its closure, he worked with the street department for the City of Madison until he was hired as a heavy equipment operator for the Madison County Road Department.
Time away from his job was always welcomed by Alvin. He was known to spend many hours at his favorite lake or pond getting the catch of the day. Afterwards, he enjoyed cooking them as well as other specialty items.
Alvin accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was a member of Morning Star M. B. Church, in Madison.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Arthur McDaniel and Lena Mae Neloms Denmark; and wife, Carlee Weatherspoon Neloms.
Survivors include his brother, Alexander (Frances) Washington, Jr., of Lake City, Fla.; sisters: Edith Washington (Roosevelt) Nelson and Deloris Washington, both of Madison; nieces, nephews and many other sorrowing relatives and loving friends.
