Sergeant First Class Angelo McQuay departed this earthly life on Friday, Oct. 8, 2021, at the University of Florida Shands Hospital, surrounded by family and with a view of the University of Florida Gators Stadium, of whom he was a loyal fan.
A viewing and visitation will be held on Friday Oct. 22, 2021, at the Ganzy Funeral Home in Madison from 4:30pm to 6pm.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021, at 11 a.m., at St. James Missionary Baptist Church in Madison.
Angelo Kontrill McQuay was born Dec. 5, 1973, in Madison, to Dorothy Gallon and the late Lugene McQuay Sr.
Angelo known to many as “Nute” attended the Madison County Public Schools, graduating from Madison County High School in 1992. Shortly after graduating, Angelo joined the United States Army, achieving the rank of Sergeant First Class before retiring after 25 years of service to his country.
SFC Angelo McQuay enjoyed being around family and friends, cooking/grilling and telling jokes, just being a standout individual who never met a stranger. When he did, they were soon called a friend or family.
