If you have driven by the McDonald's on Highway 90 recently, you have undoubtedly noticed the construction and renovations that have been engulfing the building and blocking the main entrance. The location will celebrate its 25th anniversary soon, and according to new owners Dennis and Linda Lareau, there was a lot that needed to be done to bring the establishment up to date.
The freshly renovated McDonald's on Base Street in Madison will celebrate the improvements with a week-long grand opening.
The couple purchased both the Base Street and State Route 53 locations in November 2015. Since then, they have been improving restaurant equipment, road signs, and exterior renovations. The Base Street location underwent significant remodeling, including bathroom upgrades, a new lobby, new floors, a new roof, and a fresh exterior. Two kiosks were also installed to expedite the ordering process.
There will be a grand opening celebration week, starting on Monday, Mar. 13, to showcase the six weeks of work that went into the Base Street location. Most Madison County residents should receive a coupon book in the mail. Each day will feature different breakfast and lunch specials. For example, on Monday, Mar. 13, Big Mac sandwiches and Quarter Pounders will be two for $3. On Friday, Mar. 17, all purchases come with a free coffee of any size.
The Lareaus want to thank everyone in Madison County for their patronage over the years. “(We) look forward to supporting the community over the next 25 years,” said Lareau.
