Mrs. Beatrice Standley Capan of Greenville went home to the Lord to be with her husband on Sunday, Aug. 28, 2022.
She was a resident of Greenville since birth in September 1931. After taking care of her family, in her later years she worked at Sunshine Medical, Department of Labor, and retired from the Madison County Commissioners office. She is a member of Greenville Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Charlsie Gaston (Allen), of Greenville and Charlene Roebuck (Eddie), of Jennings; five grandchildren: Stephanie Driggers, Julie Glover, April Tharp, Ronnie Charles Bass and Lee Roebuck; as well as 10 great grandchildren; a first cousin, Lillian Harris; and two nephews, Gayward Hendry, of Green Cove Springs and Byron Hendry, of Orange Park.
Beatrice was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, of 66 and a half years and her parents, Claude and Sylvia Standley.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Scott Sheets and son-in-law Eddie Roebuck officiating. The family received friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2022 at Evergreen Cemetery. All arrangements were under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Madison.
