Madison resident and Aucilla Christian Academy Head Softball Coach, Becky Lauth, was named the 2015 All Big Bend Coach of the Year for Spring sports, a title chosen through the review of the best performances of the season. A final decision is made with the input of area coaches. Lauth was also named Class 2A Coach of the Year by the Florida Dairy Farmers' noteworthy high school sports awards program. Lauth's team recently won the FHSAA Class 2A State Championship; the first-ever championship in any sport in Aucilla's history. “It is such an honor to receive Coach of the Year,” said Lauth. “It is definitely not an award that I go into each season hoping or expecting to win. The ultimate reward for me is getting to see my girls be successful both on and off of the field. As a coach, my job is to pass along my knowledge of the game to the girls and prepare them the best way that I know how. Fortunately it has paid off these past two seasons.” Lauth continued, “I am blessed with an incredible group of coachable young ladies who strive each day to better themselves. That alone is something that you cannot coach. All 13 of my girls and the support system from my coaching staff is the reason I have received this award and I could not be any more thankful or blessed to have each and every one of them.”
