Windhorse Sanctuary is a special place that gives the best treatment they can to animals who have been mistreated, injured or are just getting old. These animals are not placed for adoption but instead call the sanctuary their forever home. In order to provide lifetime care for these animals, Windhorse Sanctuary relies on donations. On Saturday, April 2, Windhorse Sanctuary in Madison will be having a benefit trail ride.
Registration and a Coggins check will be held from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and the ride will begin at 10 a.m. It will be approximately $15 per rider. Riders 16 years of age and under will be $10. Additional family members will be $10, but the minimum number of additional riders is no more than three.
Helmets are required for all children 16 years and under, per Florida law. Children under 16 years old must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult for the duration of the event.
At the event, there will be food and drinks available for purchase. Water will also be available for horses. Those who attend are asked to bring their own chairs and extra money for the raffle that will be held during the event.
The benefit trail ride will be held at Twin Rivers State Forest Ellaville Tract, located at 14798 E US Hwy 90 in Lee.
