On Wednesday, March 22, 23-year-old Edward (Eddie) Timmons, Jr. was involved in a tragic automobile accident. The accident caused him to be life-flighted to Tallahassee with life-threatening
injuries. The accident left him with a shattered collar bone, a ripped diaphragm and other serious injuries. Doctors even had to remove his spleen due to the accident. Because of this, Timmons' immune system is compromised, making employment very difficult to obtain.
When Beverly Wood at the local 53 Bar heard of Timmons' injuries, she immediately went into action to hold a fundraiser in order to help defray the astronomical medical expenses incurred by Timmons. She contacted the North Florida and South Georgia Bikers Association, and they have put together an all-day fundraiser for Timmons. The event will take place on Saturday, May 27 at the 53 Bar, located at 8144 S. County Road 53, in Madison. The event will run from 11 a.m. until 12 a.m. BBQ dinners will be on sale for $7 each. There will be an auction with dozens of items to be auctioned, beginning around 12 p.m. and lasting until 3 p.m. The event organizers are still looking for donations of items to be auctioned off, as well as 13 more Boston butts for the BBQ. There will also be a best hand poker draw, live music, and more.
Anyone wishing to donate is encouraged to call Beverly Wood at (850) 672-0196.
