Billie Scarboro Kauffman

Billie Scarboro Kauffman, born September 27, 1942, passed away peacefully in Murphy, N.C., at the home of her daughter, Shelley, on Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2024. She was born in Key West, Fla., to Hazel and Bill West.  The family moved around due to her father’s enlistment in the Coast Guard, finally settling in Madison, Fla.  She graduated from Madison High School, where she was an all-star basketball player and homecoming queen her senior year. She married Beryle Scarboro after graduation
