According to information provided by Madison County Fire Rescue (MCFR) Fire Chief Allen Clayton, a fire that took place on Saturday, June 15, completely destroyed a double-wide mobile home and three other buildings. Chief Clayton stated a call came in at approximately 12:24 p.m., regarding a brush fire in the vicinity of Beulah Church Road. Units from MCFR, the Madison Fire Department, Lee Volunteer Fire Department, Madison Volunteer Fire Department and the Pinetta Volunteer Fire Department all responded to the call. When the first units arrived at the scene, at approximately 12:42 p.m., the mobile home had already completely burned.
Upon investigation, it was determined that the fire began in a carport adjacent to the mobile home. The fire quickly spread to the mobile home and a nearby wooded area. It took firefighters approximately five and a half hours to extinguish the flames.
The mobile home was deemed a total loss, along with three other buildings. The American Red Cross was contacted to provide assistance to the family. Other assistance efforts have not been confirmed.
