Sunday, April 13 through Saturday, April 19 is National Animal Services week. Our Madison County Animal Services (MCSO) Animal Services are one of my favorite things about this county. The animals that come through their office are some of the most precious and innocent lives I’ve ever seen, who deserve a life full of love. For the month of April I’m going to be spotlighting a few of the long term residents at our MCSO Animal Services who are yearning for a family of their own. I’m kicking this little series off with Prince! This handsome boy lives up to his fitting name.
Since October 27, 2024, Prince has been patiently waiting for his forever family. This lovable pit bull, who is fully vaccinated and neutered, has spent months hoping to find the home he so clearly deserves. At first glance, Prince is the type of dog who stands out in a crowd. His tail wags with such enthusiasm that you can practically feel the energy radiating off him. He's outgoing, social, and undeniably affectionate. Whether he's offering a gentle nuzzle or nudging you over for a much-needed butt scratch, Prince is constantly seeking connection. It's clear that what Prince truly craves is love. He doesn't just want to be pet, he wants to bond, to become part of a family and to feel the comfort of his human by his side.
When you meet Prince, it’s easy to see why he would make an excellent companion. His playful nature and unwavering love are qualities that many seek in a pet. He thrives on attention and affection, and his ability to give love in return is truly heartwarming, considering how long he’s been without a home. However, like too many dogs in shelters across the country, I believe Prince has been left behind and looked over because of preconceived notions about his breed. The truth is, it does not matter the breed, if a dog has a kind, caring and compassionate owner the dog will follow with the same qualities.
Prince is a reminder of why it's so important to see beyond breed stereotypes. He is not defined by the negative associations that often come with being a pit bull. Instead, he is a friendly, outgoing, and loving dog who is simply looking for someone to call his own. Being neutered and fully vaccinated it makes him ready to join your home right away. What he needs now is a chance; a chance to prove that he is the perfect companion for the right family.
MCSO Animal Services has done their part in taking care of him, ensuring that he’s healthy and well-cared-for. Now, it’s up to us as a community to step in and help find him a forever home. If you’re looking for a dog who will shower you with love, play or walk with you outside, and cuddle up by your side at the end of the day, Prince might just be the perfect fit. His joy and love are waiting to fill a space in your life.
So, what are you waiting for? Call (850) 973-6495 and set up a time to come meet Prince at our MCSO Animal Services and see for yourself why he’s so special. Let’s not allow this sweet, loving boy to wait any longer. Prince deserves a family that will cherish him. Let’s make sure the next chapter of his life is one filled with love, comfort and the joy of finally being home.
