“We have come this far by faith, leaning on the Lord”
Brother Wilbur Lee Postell, 71, was born Oct. 10, 1950, to J.D. Postell, Sr. and Lula Mae Nelson Postell. He grew up with his 10 siblings in the Bellville community of Jennings, Fla. He resided there most of his life before he relocated to Madison, Fla., more than 30 years ago.

Public viewing and visitation will be held 4 to 6 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 15, 2022, in the chapel of J.P. Moore Mortuary, 379 W Base Street, Madison, (850) 973-6677. Earthly bed of slumber: Oakridge No.1 Cemetery, Madison.
Preceding him in passing were both of his parents; his sisters: Vernell Postell, Mae Helen Postell, Lucille Postell, and Shirley Postell; and his brothers: J.D. Postell, Jr., Wallace Postell, Earnest Postell, and Eura Postell.
Standing on the promises of Jesus, Brother Postell worked every day to reach his heavenly goal. He demonstrated his love for the Lord and dedicated his life to serve Him in spirit and in truth. In doing so, he found joy, peace, grace, and favor in his worship and praise. He was a faithful member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where he enjoyed singing in the choir and assisting wherever he was needed.
Brother Postell showed his love for his family daily. He was a kind and loving husband and dad, as well as the world’s BEST granddad and great-granddad. Whatever he could do to make life easier for them, he did so willingly. He enjoyed family times and made any occasion a special one for creating lasting memories. He loved to cook, barbecue, and to come to their rescue as a handyman and mechanic. Likewise, he was a true friend, one who made his friends and acquaintances feel as if they, too, were a part of his family.
Brother Postell was no stranger to hard work. For many years, he was employed at the Dixie Packers meat processing plant. Following its closure, he worked as a meat cutter in the meat department at Winn-Dixie until he retired.
Brother Wilbur Lee Postell knew the Lord did not bring him this far to leave him. He was ready to receive his heavenly reward. The Lord chose Saturday, Oct. 8, 2022, to bring His faithful servant home to rest. Although his transition was two days before his 72 birthday celebration with his family and close friends, Brother Wilbur Lee Postell had a change in the location because he celebrated his first heavenly birthday with Jesus. What a day of rejoicing that would be!
Brother Wilbur Lee Postell’s loved ones will miss him, but they have hope in knowing they will meet again one day. Cherishing his life, legacy, and love are his loving and devoted wife of 31 years, Linda Siplin Postell; sons: Gregory Postell, of St. Petersburg, Fla., Brandon (Keysha) Postell, of Madison, Fla. and Darius (Angie) Postell, of Tampa, Fla.; bonus sons, Eric (Karen) Monlyn, of New Orleans, La. and Antwan (Sharon) Siplin, of Madison, Fla.; daughter, Shelby Mitchell of Bellville, Fla.; bonus daughters, Trackelia Siplin and Elizabeth (Keith) Smith, all of Madison, Fla.; brother, Castella (Martha) Postell, of Miami, FL; sister, Idella George, of Bellville, Fla.; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a multitude of sorrowing other relatives and friends.
