Burton “Jack” Daniel Sealey, Jr., age 81, passed away January 7, 2022, in Lee, Fla.
Jack was born in Lee, Fla on March 9, 1940, to Burton and Flaurie Sealey. Following high school, he entered the United States Navy and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Jack was awarded several medals and commendations; Good Conduct Medal(First Award), Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal(Device 1960), National Defense Service Medal, Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon, Vietnam Gallantry Cross, Combat Action Medal and Vietnam Service Medal (3 Stars.) He retired from the Navy after 20 years. For 10 years Jack worked as a Deputy Sheriff in Thomasville GA . In 1986 he returned to his home town of Lee Fla. and worked for Madison County. He was employed by the City of Madison for 30 years retiring in 2016. Jack attended Midway Church of God in Lee, Fla. He was loved by all his family and friends and will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his wife Maggie Sealey, his parents, two brothers Clifford and Gene and a son, Michael D. Sealey.
He is survived by his sons - Burton D. Moore (Carrie) of Lee, Florida; and Burton D. Sealey III (Lynn) of Steger, Illinois; and daughters – Flaurie J. Sealey Walls (Ricky) of Monee, Illinois; and Lisa K. Moore of Lee, Florida; four grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
There will be a Graveside Service at Stonewall Cemetery in Lee, Fla. on Wed., January 12, 2022 at 2 pm.
