A camper trailer caught on fire on Saturday, May 9 at 2:56 p.m., while traveling on Interstate 10. According to Madison Fire Rescue Chief Bruce Jordan, the driver, Bill Lutz, was pulling a camper trailer while traveling east on I-10. A fellow driver flagged him down to tell him it was on fire and he pulled into the Lee rest area parking lot. Lutz detached his vehicle before the fire caused damage to the vehicle. The camper was completely destroyed. The cause of the fire is unknown. No injuries were reported. Madison Fire Rescue was assisted by Lee Volunteer Fire Department and Pinetta Volunteer Fire Department.
