A driver hydroplaned and collided with a tree on Interstate 10 near mile marker 236 on Monday, April 20 at 12:30 p.m. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Joyce Ann Littlefield, 71, of Leslie, Michigan was traveling westbound on Interstate 10 around mile marker 236. Littlefield changed lanes from the inside lane to the outside lane. Her 2004 Lincoln Town Car began to hydroplane from the standing water in the travel lane causing the vehicle to run off the road onto the shoulder. The vehicle began to rotate counterclockwise about 180 degrees and the driver side collided with a tree on the north shoulder. Littlefield’s vehicle came to a final rest at the area of collision facing east on the north shoulder. Littlefield received no injuries and was not transported to the hospital.
