On Thursday, Oct. 13, the United Way of the Big Bend (UWBB) will present their Madison County Celebrity Waiters Night at Norris Cafe, located at 140 Range St., in Madison.
The special celebrity guest for this year's Celebrity Waiters Night is WCTV reporter Julie Montanaro, who has been reporting news for the North Florida and Southwest Georgia station since 1989.
Montanaro has won various awards from the Associate Press, including winning the Individual Achievement Award three different times.
The event will start at 5 p.m. and last until 7:30 p.m., with a cake auction to be held at 6:30 p.m.
Montanaro also serves as the 2017 UWBB’s Campaign Chair.
Local business and community leaders will serve as waiters for the evening and it’s open to the public. This annual fundraising effort provides an opportunity to thank local companies, donors and volunteers for their generosity and commitment to UWBB.
This year's campaign goal is to raise $95,000 for the Madison County Community through the UWBB's fundraising efforts. Last year, United Way funded 20 local programs that provide food, shelter, healthcare, victim services and educational initiatives.
The UWBB hopes to see a large turn out at their Celebrity Waiters Night.
