On Wednesday, Jan. 15, businesses and individuals came together for a monthly luncheon hosted by the Madison County Chamber of Commerce. This luncheon serves as a means for locals to share about their business or organization, network and learn more about the interesting people who make up Madison County.
Attendees feasted on a delicious lunch prepared by Phyllis Williams, Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce, consisting of New Year's favorites such as collard greens, ham, black-eyed peas, rice and cornbread with cracklin's. After lunch, guests were educated by the staff members of Kids Incorporated of the Big Bend, a United Way member agency providing Early Head Start services to families at five locations throughout Madison, Jefferson and Leon Counties.
After Kids Incorporated addressed attendees, door prizes were drawn and several lucky winners were able to go home with a one-year subscription to their local newspapers, courtesy of Greene Publishing, Inc., as well as a cash prize, courtesy of the Chamber of Commerce. The next Chamber of Commerce luncheon will be held on Monday, Feb. 3, at 12 p.m.
