Cheryl Brown Clemons, 70, of Greenville, Fla., passed on Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2021. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 19, in New Zion Cemetery, in Greenville. A viewing and visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 18, at New Zion Church, in Greenville. Tillman of Monticello (850) 997-5553 is serving the family. Born in Monticello, Cheryl was a graduate of Sarasota High School, and later Florida A&M University, where she received her bachelor's degree. She later earned her master's degree from Argosy University. She was a retired program administrator for Florida's Department of Children and Families. She held membership in several organizations, including the Charmettes and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Survivors include her daughter, Sonja Clemons; son, J. Jovan (Kimberly) Johnson; grandchildren, Aniyah and Khalil Johnson; brother, Arthur J. Samuels; sister, Marcell Jones; niece, Natarsha (Corey) Peacock; nephew, Anthony Brown; sister-in-law, Patricia Hall; god-daughter, Lakeesha Wallace; and a host of other relatives and friends.
