On May 2, 1966, Willie Frank Newsome and Inez Walker Newsome became the proud parents of Cheryl Denise Newsome. She was lovingly raised along with her siblings in Madison, Fla. Her mother preceded her in death. Celebration of Life Services, with COVID-19 restrictions, will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 29, in the sanctuary of Rocky Springs Missionary Baptist Church, located at 4368 FL-53, in Madison. Public viewing and visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Friday, Jan. 28, in the chapel of J.P. Moore Mortuary, located at 379 W. Base St., in Madison, (850) 973-6677. Cheryl’s lifelong experience of living in Madison included her growing up with her siblings, relatives and friends. She received her education from the Madison County School District, accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and became a member of Rocky Springs Missionary Baptist Church. As a young adult, she worked hard to make a home for her children and raised them to not only make her proud, but more importantly, to also love the Lord. Cheryl was a compassionate person who demonstrated her love for the Lord in her daily life. She knew that to have a friend, she first had to be a friend. She loved to cook and would willingly share her meals with others. Whatever she could do to help a person in need, she did so willingly and with a cheerful heart. She also had a very positive attitude about life and many things others easily complained about. Being positive gave her reasons to just smile and “smell the roses.” “It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn’t go alone. For part of us went with you, the day God called you home.” On Saturday, Jan. 15, Cheryl Denise Newsome stood on the promises of Her Heavenly Father and answered His call by peacefully sleeping into eternal rest. Cheryl’s love, life, and legacy will forever be cherished in special memories by her many loved ones who will miss her until they meet again. Among them are her daughters: Toccara (William) McGee, of Madison, Fla., Dwan Vaughn and Chade Fudge, both of Quitman, Ga.; father, Willie Frank (Bobbie) Newsome, of Quitman, Ga.; fiancé’, David Brinson, of Quitman, Ga.; brother, Gary (Lana) Townsend, of Tallahassee, Fla.; sisters, Wanda (Tony) Spate, of Buffalo, N.Y. and Sabrina Newsome, of Texas; nine loving grandchildren: Brittney, Whitney, Cidney, Zahara, Zari, T.J., Ty, Killeen and Bryston; close friend, Carolyn Jonas, of Madison, Fla.; sister-in-law, Virgel Brinson, of Quitman, Ga.; as well as hosts of other sorrowing relatives and devoted friends. Final Care and Compassionate Services are being provided to the Newsome Family, with love, care and uncompromising dignity, by J.P.
