On Tuesday, May 26, faculty, administrators, students and family gathered at Madison County High School to witness Christopher Fead, Jr. sign to play basketball for the Warner University Royals. This signing marked a huge feat, not only for Fead, but for Head Coach Allen Demps, who experienced the first signing of one of his players during his three-year coaching tenure at MCHS. “This has been a long four years,” said Fead's mother, Lashon Arnold. “He fought and fought. We didn't want him to go far away, so he talked to God and prayed for direction. God opened a door and we are so happy.” “I want to thank everyone for coming out today and supporting me,” said Fead. “For all the people who said I couldn't do it, I am doing it.” Fead will attend orientation at Warner University in Lake Wales, Polk County, Florida on June 19. “Keep him in your prayers,” said Arnold.
