
City approves contract for magistrate

The Madison City Commission met on Tuesday, April 8, approving a contract for a magistrate to preside over code enforcement issues as they arise. Lake City Attorney Michael James Pope, who already serves as a special magistrate for the county, will provide his services for the city as well.
Pope’s new role will become effective upon signing his contract, which is set at $200 per hour, on an as-needed basis. Special magistrates have the
