District 4 City Commissioner Marcus Hawkins will host a community meeting from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., on Tuesday, Feb. 24. The location will be held at the Precinct 11 building located at 146 Southeast Bunker Street in the Precinct 11 building near Lake Frances. The Precinct 11 building is the local office of the Suwannee River Economic Council, Inc. District 4 is comprised of U.S. 90 East in the north to SE Old County Camp Road in the South, and from State Road 53 South in the west to Southeast Byrd Avenue in the East. This section of the city will be the primary focus at the community meeting. “I encourage everyone to come out and share your concerns and to see how we might collectively work to make Madison the best it can be,” said Hawkins. Residents and business owners from the city’s other four voting districts are welcomed to attend. Their comments and concerns will be provided to their respective city commissioners. City Manager Tim Bennett, Fire Rescue Chief Bruce Jordan and Interim Police Chief Willie McGhee will be attending the meeting.
