City of Madison employee in ICU after motorcycle wreck

City of Madison employee, Chuck Hitchcock, was involved in a motorcycle wreck on Sunday, March 8, somewhere between Starke and Lake Butler. According to local friends, Hitchcock was on his way home to Madison from Daytona Beach, Fl. He is currently in ICU at UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville with a collapsed lung and broken ribs. Hitchcock is the Superintendent for Planning and Development for the City of Madison. Upon contacting the Florida Highway Patrol, we were informed that the official crash report had not been written, thus they could give us no further details.
