On Wednesday, May 25, 2016, a murder in the southwest region of Madison County was discovered, and an investigation began. Jeremy Harris was killed, and his body was found next to a set of railroad tracks on ER Scott Rd., in Madison, by a CSX operator around 3:39 a.m. Harris was 28.
The Madison Police Department (MPD) did not find enough evidence to lead to the arrest of a potential suspect. The MPD is re-interviewing potential witnesses and has resubmitted evidence to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) in Tallahassee.
