New England Patriot, Super Bowl XLIX champion, LeGarrette Blount, is coming home to Taylor County on Saturday, Feb. 28. The Perry-Taylor County Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Welcome Home parade and meet and greet with Blount in Perry. While a Taylor County native, Blount does have a connection to Madison County as his mother, Barbara Bonner, was born and raised in Madison but now resides in Perry. Blount was also born in Madison. The police escorted parade will be through the town and will start at noon in front of Perry-Taylor County Chamber of Commerce and end at the Forest Capital Park. Following the parade, there will be a meet and greet with Blount. Everyone is welcome to attend and get his autograph. Attendees will also have the opportunity to have his or her picture taken with Blount. The Chamber of Commerce will also be giving away autographed pictures at the event. Blount started his career at Taylor County High School as a Bulldog and attended University of Oregon before going on to play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the New England Patriots and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He rejoined the New England Patriots on Nov. 20, 2014 and went on the win Super Bowl XLIX on Feb. 1, 2015 against the Seattle Seahawks.
