Connie Annette Chandler French passed away Friday, Dec. 24, 2021, in Madison, Fla., at the age of 67.
Connie was born March 9, 1954, in Longview, Texas, to Ted and Loma Chandler. In 1965, her family moved to Madison, Fla. She enjoyed a long membership in the Ladies Golf Association at the Madison Country Club. Being active in the IBC support group for breast cancer survivors was important to her. Her biggest claim of fame was being a “Nanny” to her grandchildren. She loved to go to any event in which they were involved and lovingly shared stories about them with everyone. Her favorite part of the day was sunset, when she would always try and make time with family to enjoy a glass of wine while watching the sun go down. She loved seeing live music. She enjoyed golf, both playing it and watching it on TV. Even at her most difficult times dealing with cancer, she embraced life and refused to give up oysters and wine. She knew how to live the good life.
She is survived by her husband, Rex French, of Lee, Fla.; daughter, Chandra Smith (Gareth), and their children Cody Smith and Riley Smith, of Madison, Fla.; mother, Loma Graham Chandler, of Madison, Fla.; step-daughter, Lynne Davis (Gary) and their children Mia and Cole, of Miami, Fla.; step-son, Brian French (Katie) and their son, Drew French, of Lee, Fla.; brother, Ronald Richardson, of Madison; two sisters, Diane Richardson Ranger (Chester), of Palm Desert, Calif. and Peggy Chandler Carter (Eric), of La Selva Beach, Calif.; plus many close and cherished cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Teddy Chandler, of Madison, Fla.
As a member of the Baptist faith, graveside services took place Tuesday Dec. 28, at 3 p.m., at Cherry Lake Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Breast Cancer Society.
T.J. Beggs, Jr. and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements, (850) 973-2258.
