On Tuesday, June 10th, Covenant Bible College and Seminary (CBCS) Commencement Ceremonies were filled to overflowing with over 200 family members and friends who came from as far as Daytona Beach, Florida to applaud the graduating class of 2015. The atmosphere in the church was charged with excitement as the 25 graduates in their caps, gowns, hoods and tassels marched down the aisle in a procession as the honorees of the evening. Dr. Dawn Knighton, CBCS Director of the Daytona Beach, Florida Campus, opened the Commencement Ceremony with a welcome and an exhortation to the Body of Christ to fulfill the plans and purposes of their Divine calling. Catherine Murphy, CBCS Instructor/Evangelist shared a powerful Scripture and gave the invocation lifting up praise and thanksgiving to God for all He is doing in each of our lives, our nation, and Covenant Bible College and Seminary. Life-transforming worship that was centered at the Throne of God was led by Valerie Thomas, also an anointed Instructor/Minister. Kathy Harvey, Instructor, shared the history, current developments, and vision of CBCS with the honorees and the congregation.
Bishop Carl Joseph, CBCS Student/Minister, shared his awesome testimony, and a beautiful song of praise and worship was sung by Loretta Ellison, Pastor/2015 Graduate, and the Choraleers. Peter Harvey, CBCS Assistant Director at the Madison, Fl. Campus/Instructor, gave a wonderful introduction of the evening’s guest speaker, John Peterson, Pastor of New Life Christian Church International in Madison, Fl. After Pastor Peterson’s powerfully anointed Commencement address, CBCS Registrar, Licia Newstead conferred on the graduates the following degrees: Diploma of Theology: Diane C. Campbell, Patricia Henderson, Belinda M. Kitchens, Teresa L. Patton and Rachel L. Ward. Associate of Science in Theology: Tiffany R. Fields, Alexander Fountain, Sr., Patricia M. Hosier, Tommie L. Jefferson, Alexis R. Nurell, Charles Pate III, Arthur Lee Robinson, Leavon Robinson and Christine D. Stewart. Advanced Associate of Science in Theology: David L. Ellison, Loretta M. Ellison, Carl Leon Miller, Jr. and Melanie Wilson. Bachelor of Science in Theology: Kenya Dennis and David Prince III. Master of Science in Theology: Delores T. Bell, Barbara E. Brown, Josie Mae Graham and Philip Maurice Jackson. After the Conferring of Degrees, Dr. Connie Peterson, CBCS Dean of Campuses, prophesied over the students then offered her heart-felt love and appreciation to the instructors, students’ families, Keyboardist: Jarod Jackson, Drummer: Malaya Mobley, Greeters: Amanda Doyle and Cassandra Newstead, Powerpoint: Zackery Peterson, Photographer: Jessica Harvey and the wonderful host-church family at The Madison Church of God. Dr. Peterson then presented the 2015 Graduating Class of Covenant Bible College & Seminary to those in attendance and watching by webcast.
A lovely reception followed and was beautifully catered in the Fellowship Hall by 2014 CBCS Graduates Dr. Rickey and Dr. Ava Curry, owners of R & A’s Catering Service from Jasper, Florida. All new and returning students are asked to attend the Orientation and Information Meeting. If you are unable to attend, CDs of the meeting will be available for your convenience. The orientation and information meeting for the 2015 – 2016 academic year will be held on Tuesday, August 4 at 7 p.m. at New Life Christian Church International located on US-90 West in Madison, Fl., 405 SW OLD US 90. Classes will begin on Tuesday, August 11 at 7 p.m. at New Life. Covenant Bible College and Seminary is a member of the Academic Council for Educational Accountability (ACEA). They are accredited with Transworld Accrediting Commission International (ACI), the world’s largest independent, non-governmental accrediting agency. Because there is no deadline for registration, a student may enroll and start classes at the beginning of any month.
