The Madison County High School (MCHS) Cowboy golf team recently concluded their 2021 season with a match with the Warriors of Aucilla Christian Academy at the Jefferson County Country Club on Thursday, Oct. 21. The Cowboys defeated the Warriors, 186-207, to finish the season with a 13-3 mark.
The Cowboys moved on to the district tournament on Monday, Oct. 25, at Quail Heights, in Lake City. The Cowboys were the district runners-up, just three strokes over the district champ Keystone Heights Indians. Cowboy Jarrod Sullivan had the low round of the tournament with a 77.
“They have played some really good golf this year,” said Coach Jason Fletcher. “This is the first time since around 2007 or 2008 that the entire team has advanced to regionals as a team.”
The Cowboys now move on to the regional tournament on Monday, Nov. 1, at Marsh Landing Country Club, in Ponte Vedra, Fla.
