It was a tense game on Friday, Nov. 27 as the Madison County Cowboys took on the Trenton Tigers in a neutral playoffs game at 7:30 p.m. From the first quarter, the Cowboys were off to a bad start, finishing with 0-3; in the second quarter, the Cowboys failed to make any touchdowns, leaving the winning to Trenton with a score of 10-0. While the Cowboys recovered from their losses in the first two quarters of the game and were able to score 12 points in the third quarter, they lost to Trenton by two points with a final score of 14-12; the Cowboys won the very last quarter with a score of 6-0; despite a great effort shown by the Cowboys, they lost by nine points, falling hard with a final score of 27-18. Patrick Brown had 11 carries with 14 yards ran; Kenny McQuay and Kentwan Daniels each scored one touchdown, with McQuay having 13 carries for 64 yards and Daniels having nine carries for 125 yards. Teryon Henderson also scored one touchdown, with six carries and 53 yards ran. This loss marks the end of the season for the Cowboys. Overall, the Cowboys had a record of 9-4 and 4-0 in the district; their national rank is currently 923, and their state rank is 76; the Cowboys scored #3 in the state class as well. It has been a fantastic season for the Cowboys; blood, sweat, tears and all. With fantastic plays, hard work and perseverance from every player on the team, the Cowboys truly wowed their fans this year, leaving everyone fraught with anticipation and excitement for next season's turn out.
