The Madison County High School (MCHS) Cowboys wrapped up their regular basketball season on Thursday, Feb. 2, on the road against the Wildcats of Baker County High School. The Cowboys improved their record to 13-5 with their 60-26 win over the Wildcats.
The Cowboys built an early lead and at the end of the first period, the Cowboys were firmly in control with a 23-11 score. The Cowboys outscored the Wildcats 11-2 to take a 34-13 lead into halftime. The Cowboys continued to press their advantage during the third period, taking a 51-19 lead into the fourth quarter. During the fourth quarter, the running clock brought a quick end to the game and another Cowboy victory.
O'Shea Akins led the Cowboys in scoring, with 18 points, hitting nine of his 12 shot attempts. Orient Livingston also scored in double digits, with 11 points.
