On Saturday, Jan. 21, the Madison County High School (MCHS) Cowboys traveled to Mayo and extended their winning streak to 15 games with a dominant 81-50 victory over the Hornets of Lafayette High School.
This win improved the Cowboys' record to 17-2 as the regular season winds down.
Kris Allen led the way in scoring for the Cowboys with 13 points. Josiah Mitchell had another impressive game on both ends of the court with 12 points, nine rebounds, and seven blocked shots. Dilan Lawson added another 12 points to the Cowboys' total. Travis Jay chalked up another double – double with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
The next home game for the Cowboys will be Saturday, Jan. 28, against Suwannee County. This will be Senior Night for the Cowboys. Tip – off is slated for 8:30 p.m. in the MCHS gymnasium.
