After their success in the regional meet in Bradford, Fl. on Friday, April 1, four members of the Madison County High School Cowboys weightlifting team competed in the FHSAA State Championships on Friday, April 15 in Kissimmee, Fl. These fourlifters were: Kijuan Irvine (119 pounds), Tinarus Irvine (169 pounds), Kima McDaniel (183 pounds) and Diante Hartsfield (199 pounds).
All four lifters did well. Coming in second place in the 119 pound weight class was Kijuan Irvine. In sixth place in the 183 pound weight class was Kima McDaniel. Diante Hartsfield finished in eighth place in the 199 pound weight class. Tinarus Irvine failed to place but is still considered a top 20 lifter in the state of Florida in his weight class.
