The Madison County High School Cowgirls softball team dusted themselves off from their recent losses against Aucilla and Lafayette and took to the baseball field to participate in a home game on Thursday, March 10 against the Hamilton County Trojans.
With only one run scored, the Trojans were completely wiped out by the Cowgirls- who won in five innings with a final score of 11-1.
Despite their victory over the Trojans, it wasn't enough to bring the Cowgirls to glory in their next game on Friday, March 11 against the Godby Cougars.
In the first inning, the Cougars overthrew the Cowgirls with a score of 3-1. In the second inning, there were no runs scored by either team and in the third inning, the Cowgirls fell with a score of 2-1. No runs were scored in the fourth inning by either team and the Cowgirls were unsuccessful in the fifth inning, losing 2-0. In the sixth inning, there was a tie of 1-1. No runs were scored by either team in the last inning.
At the end of the game, the Cougars took home the win with a score of 8-3; in total, the Cowgirls had three hits and one error, compared to the Cougars, who had 13 hits and two errors.
Hopefully the next games will show some promise for the Cowgirls.
