The Cowgirls were able to dominate the Lady Bears in the district semi-final game, 69-37, to move ahead to the district championship.
The championship game was held on Saturday, Feb. 8. The Cowgirls opened the game with a 9-0 run and held their lead through the first period, which ended with the score, 19-11. During the second quarter, the Cowgirls opened their lead to carry a 37-24 advantage into halftime. The Lady Hornets fought back during the third period and a three-point buzzer-beater shot narrowed the Cowgirls' lead to just three points at the end of the third quarter. The Cowgirls' defense stiffened during the final period of play, holding the Lady Hornets to just four points in the fourth quarter, to post the district championship win.
