From now until Christmas, Linda Olson needs help knitting or crocheting hats for Veterans Village residents in Tallahassee.
The Veterans there are formerly homeless and are allowed to live in the Village for a year until they can get back onto their feet or receive any medical help needed. There can be as many as 60 residents at a time and Olson is not sure she can make the quota. If you do not do needlework but would still love to donate, they can also use nonperishable foods, snacks, toiletries, scarves, socks, towels, blankets, etc.
For anyone interested, please drop the hats off at the Cherry Lake Utilities office between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday through Friday this week. After Friday, Dec. 15, donors will need to contact Olson to pick the donations up. Donations will be delivered on Saturday, Dec. 23.
The Cherry Lake Utilities office is located at 257 Berkshire Rd., in Madison. For more information, or to meet Olson to drop your donations off, contact her at (229) 412-5278.
