Cynthia (Cyndi) Marie Cunningham Kirts, 60, passed away on Monday, May 1, 2017 following a courageous battle with cancer. Throughout her illness, Cyndi had a positive attitude towards life and her family. She was an inspiration to all those around her and never once gave in to her illness. She always expressed how much she appreciated those who supported and motivated her during her illness.
Cyndi was born in Gainesville, Fl., on February 6, 1957 to Ruthie and Richard Cunningham. She graduated from Gainesville High School and later attended the Crawford School of Nursing, Georgia State University and Santa Fe Community College. She was a former member of the Junior League of Gainesville.
In 1997, Cyndi moved to Satellite Beach, Fl., where she was a teacher and director of several preschools. She returned to Gainesville in 2010 and worked for Baby Gators, UF until she became ill.
Cyndi was predeceased by her father, Richard Cunningham, M.D. She is survived by her daughter, Meghan Elizabeth Kirts, of Gainesville; her mother, Ruthie Graybill, of Gainesville; sisters, Lisa Wall (Willie), of Sanford; Eleanor Pojer (Raul), of Spain, and Debbie Blair (Johnny), of Madison and her nieces, Michelle and Nicole Pojer, of Miami.
