Deborah “Debe” Scott went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2016 leaving behind her beloved family, which includes her husband of 48 years, Roy; three children: Crystal, Ryan and Erika; eight grandchildren and a sister, Paula Mulligan, of Indianapolis, In.
A member of Greenville Baptist Church, Debe sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, and served as the church clerk. She was also involved in many community activities, including the Greenville Heritage Committee, the Straw Hat Literary Book Club, and the Red Hatters. She served as Secretary and President of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 131, was the President of the Greenville Woman's Club, and a Board Member of the Treasurers of Madison County.
Debe retired after 31 years of teaching in the Madison County School District. She was an artist and enjoyed traveling. Funeral services will take place at Greenville Baptist Church on Saturday, Aug. 20, at 10 a.m., with internment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
