Delma Marshall Beck, Sr., 81, passed away on May 19, in Madison.
Delma was born May 8, 1935 in Jennings, Fl. to Willie Beck and Lillie McDonald Beck. Delma was of the Baptist faith.
Delma worked for Tri-County Electric Cooperative, Inc. for 35 years and then later served on its Board of Directors.
After leaving Tri-County Electric, Delma worked with the Senior Citizens Council of Madison and worked 10 years as a security guard at Pilgrims Pride. Delma loved fishing and hunting in his spare time. For many years, he enjoyed umpiring softball and baseball games for the county’s recreation teams.
Delma is survived by his wife, Joan Fountain Beck, of Madison; in-laws, Eldrige and Rose Fountain, of Cherry Lake; one son, Marshall (Michelle) Beck, of Live Oak; one daughter, Donna Grubbs, of Lee; three grandchildren: Brad (Sherilyn) Pickels, of Madison, Stephanie (Cole) Salter, of North Port, Fl. and Aaron Beck, of Lee; three step-grandchildren: Ryan, Christopher and Michael Faucher, all of Live Oak and two great-grandchildren, Jarrett Pickels and Maddie Salter. He is also survived by an ex-son-in-law, Stan Pickels and ex-daughter-in-law, Dianne Beck.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Lillie Beck; two brothers, Billy Beck and Elmer Beck and one sister, Nancy Carolyn Beck.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, May 26 at 10 a.m. at Cherry Lake First Baptist Church, with Brother Tom Ray Kelly officiating.
