Mrs. Delores Osteen, 78, of Cross City, Fl., passed away Friday, February 27.
Mrs. Osteen was born in Madison, to John and Eathelle Deason. She worked a number of years as a grocery clerk at Deason’s Grocery, Lamb’s Grocery and Corbin’s Grocery and a number of years at Cooey’s Restaurant but first and foremost she was a homemaker and mother. She enjoyed her artistic talents as a painter of outdoor and costal scenes and gardening. Mrs. Osteen was a member of Jena Pentecostal Holiness Church.
She is survived by sons: John Edward Osteen, of Jena; Ricky Harold (Linda) Osteen, of Jena; Nathaniel “Skipper” Roland (Kimberly) Osteen, of Chiefland; Scott O’Neal (Katherine) Osteen, of Jena; and Christopher David (Amy) Osteen, of Old Town; daughter, Rebecca (Robert) Allison of Jacksonville, Ala.; mother, Eathelle Deason, of Steinhatchee; sister, Gail Heidt, of Steinhatchee; 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband, David Osteen; grandson, Korde Osteen and brother, Joe Deason.
A graveside funeral service was held on Sunday, March 1, at 2 p.m., at Mt. Olive Cemetery with Rev. Carolyn Oglesby officiating.
