Madison County Central School began a new program for the 2021 school year, which recognizes and features on one of the hardworking teachers who work at the School. For the month of September, Derita Pinkard was given this honor. In an interview, Pinkard shared that she has been teaching for 35 years and has a love for numbers and teaching math to students. Pinkard also discussed that one of the things she has enjoyed the most about teaching is when she encounters one of her previous students and they recognize or greet her years later. That lasting impression is no doubt a great reward for a teacher such as Mrs. Pinkard. Pinkard is a Madison County resident and a graduate of Valdosta State University.
