In an impressive first season for Madison County High School (MCHS) girls' flag football, the Cowgirls have already produced a state-wide all-
star. Donteria Ingram, a senior on the MCHS Cowgirls squad, was selected to be on the 2017 Florida Athletic Coaches Association All-Star Flag Football Team. “This was our first year with the sport, and having one of our players selected is a great honor and very impressive,” said MCHS Flag Football Coach James Ertzberger. The All-Star teams played in Gainesville, Fl., on Sunday, May 21. Ingram was chosen to be one of the team captains for the North Florida team and started on defense in the linebacker position.
The North Florida team played in two separate games on Sunday. In the first game, the North Florida team was defeated by the South Florida team by a score of 19-7. In the second game of the afternoon, the North Florida team was edged out by the West Florida team by a score of 13-12.
During the 2017 flag football season at MCHS, Ingram (who played running back for the Cowgirls) helped lead the Cowgirls to a 9-3 record in their first season in the sport.
