Doyle William Owens, 84, of Pinetta, Fl., and formerly of Lake City, Fl., passed away quietly at home Saturday, June 6th, surrounded by his loving family and under the wonderful care of hospice. He was born in Fort Pierce, Fl., after relocating to Hollywood Fl., he transferred his family up to Lake City in 1968. After many commendations and awards he retired from the USDA in 1995. He dearly loved being outdoors and in nature and spending time with family. He leaves behind his wife, Georgia Faye Owens and five children: Vicki Sullivan Bloomstine (Legrand) of Madisonville, Tenn., Donna Sullivan of Pinetta, Fl., Rhonda Owens Weimer (Richard) of Baltimore, Md., JC Sullivan son- in-law of Pinetta, Fl., Sherri Dansbi of Old Town, Fl., and Jay Williams of Old Town, Fl., as well as 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Many other beloved family members and friends will mourn the loss of a wonderful man, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Memorial services will be Sunday, June 14th, at 4 p.m., at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Madison, Fl. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made in Mr. Owens’ name to the Big Bend Hospice of Madison, in appreciation for their loving care.
