The October meeting of the 55 Plus Club will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 12 at 12 p.m.
The program for the month's meeting will be presented by Dr. John Lewis of the Madison Veterinary Clinic.
Dr. Lewis came to Madison in 1979 with a heart for all animals, large and small alike. Dr. Lewis is now well-known throughout the community for his knowledge, skill and involvement with the Madison County community.
His topic for the meeting of the 55 Plus Club will be regarding Zika, Rabies, and ZOONOTIC diseases, which are illnesses that can be transmitted from a human to an animal.
All 55 Plus Club meetings are held at the United Methodist Cooperative Center, located about four miles north of Madison, on Hwy 145.
The host for the month's meeting is the Cherry Lake United Methodist Church.
All seniors aged 55 or older are invited for a lovely session of lunch, conversation and an interesting program.
No reservations are needed, and there are no club fees of any kind. All faiths and races are welcome.
