Dr. Robert J. Auston (86) was known as Dr. Bob. He passed away on Friday, May 19, 2021. Dr. Bob was born on Dec. 9, 1934, in Gary, Ind. and was an only child to Dr. Joseph and Clara Goldstone.
He was pampered by his adoring parents and excelled in honors in all his educational pursuits. He became a family Doctor, MD and had a very successful practice in general/family medicine. He later went to the University of Miami to study acupuncture and became certified in addiction medicine, occupational medicine and geriatric medicine. He was also the Chief of Staff at University Hospital in Tamarac, Fla. He is missed tremendously by his family, as well as the patients he dedicated his life to. He has touched our lives beyond words and will forever be in our hearts.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria (Gigi) Auston; five children; as well as two loving step-children who he brought up as his own.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, May 22, 2021, at Grumpy's Diner, in Madison.
“I could go on and on about it, but he would probably cut me off so I’ll end this with an expression that he always said, ‘If you don’t try it, you’ll never achieve it!’ We love you to the moon and back, Bobby Jay,” said a family member.
Beggs Funeral Home, in Madison, is handling the arrangements. You may send your condolences to the family by visiting www.beggsfuneral.com.
