Madison’s beloved doctor of 52 years, Dr. William Johnson Bibb, passed away at 4 a.m. on Thursday, January 29. He was 83 years old. Dr. Bibb, born on March 4, 1931, opened his practice in 1962 and had just retired from his long-time medical career in November of 2014. This Hometown Hero, described as “the ideal doctor” by many, leaves behind a wife, Judy Bibb; two daughters: Kathryn Hart (Steve) and Ruth Ann Latner (Bart); one son, Brian Bibb (Kim); and seven grandchildren. The staff at Madison County Memorial Hospital, many of who practiced under Dr. Bibb, stated, “We are saddened beyond words at the news of the passing of Dr. Johnson Bibb. Madison County and our hospital have lost a dear, dear friend.” Funeral arrangements had not yet been made as of press time, but keep checking our website at www.greenepublishing.com or our Facebook page, for information as it becomes available.
